Parametric Studies
In October 2013, VINCENT CALLEBAUT ARCHITECTURES developed 24 PLUS-ENERGY towers of housing, offices or mixed in partnership with the Developer Hui-Ting Shen from Core Pacific Group in China.
This parametric study is based on the technical innovations (Structure, MEP, Leed, landscape) developed since 2010 for Tao-Zhu-Yin-Yuan project in Taipei, Taiwan, tower currently under construction until the end of 2016 close to 101 Tower.
The objective is to invent new prototypes of PLUS-ENERGY towers producing more energy than they consume, with energy either electric, calorific, cooling or food. These sustainable towers fight against the worldwide global warming by their carbon-neutral footprint and by recycling at the same time in situ their own waste.
They are eco-designed according to bioclimatic rules (solar cycle, prevailing wind directions, endemic plant species, etc.) on the one hand, and by the integration of renewable energies (wind turbines, thermal solar energy, photovoltaic solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass, etc.) on the other hand.
These « Citytrees » are swirling shapes that combine the meaning of DNA helix structure in the contemporary urban areas. They are respectful of the Taiji Philosophy and are source of life and dynamism, symbol of harmony revealing the notion of ultimate balance between the human being and the nature praised by the project.
Residences will live in these ecological towers of 360-degree panoramic views in ambient sky gardens covered by green cascades that have some magnificent views of the mountain and the river beyond in the backdrop of the city.
The structural system of Vierendeel Truss allows to create hyperflexible spaces "column free" without visual obstruction from inside day time and night time.
These 24 prototypes of “Citytrees” are an innovative design idea of Green building, representing the combination of Tree and Building and metamorphosing the city into a vertical, green, dense and hyper-connected ecosystem.
Our main objective behind this urban proposal is to raise awareness of green sustainable architecture to fight against global warming in order to maintain a eco-friendly Earth for our next generation.
