Sessions :
Tuesday 22 May, 14:30 > 16:00
Opening session - Setting the Scene: Challenges and Opportunities in the Urban Environment
The Brussels Green Week conference kicks off with the big questions front and centre. All around the globe, cities are in constant expansion, and as populations rise, changing consumption patterns increase the pressure on the world’s natural resources. But cities are also the laboratories of our future – the places where big environmental battles are waiting to be won. Green Week 2018 will ask, how can we help steer cities away from the pitfalls, and towards sustainability? What can Europe do to help mainstream their successes, improve their governance, and help them plan for the longer term?
